yuletide, meme

I totally uploaded my Yuletide story with an entire day to spare. At this point, of course, I hate it, but I'm trying to counter that by just being glad that the story is finished. Who cares if I'm doubting every choice I made while writing it? The story exists, that is what matters!
Speaking of Yuletide! Mysterious author, I am going to my grandmother's for Christmas Eve, but I fully expect to be home by midnight when the stories go live. If I don't comment right away, though, it's because I got held up later than I expected to. I promise to comment as soon as I can! Thank you again for writing a story for me!
Anyhoo, yet another self-indulgent meme:
If you had me under your command and could make me write anything, regardless of whether or not I know the fandom or if anybody even writes fic in that fandom and no matter how crack-addled it might be, what would you love to see me write?
I am assuming that all of you would love to see me write fewer entries consisting largely/solely of self-indulgent memes, so no need to put that in a comment.

Date: 2007-12-23 07:14 am (UTC)Sports Night! I only watched that sporadically but it would be neat to be able to use some of the random sports stuff I've got running around in my head.

Date: 2007-12-23 07:16 am (UTC)Happy holidays to you, K! I hope you're enjoying the break and preparing for your rigorous Vegetate in 2008 plan for your course-free spring semester. Because you totally need a break!

Date: 2007-12-22 01:11 pm (UTC)Oh my god, so many things. I will keep it brief. I would have you write a post about how awesome you are, so that people could comment and say "you missed something! here are more reasons why you are awesome!" and you could see that you are, in fact, awesome. I would have you write me Psych, too, and there would be the barest presence of Lassie, because it would be all G/S, all the time. And I would have you write me a post wooing me into your various fandoms, with backstory and youtube vids and so on. I think that's it! Unless I also had you write me Bourne fic, but basically I want everyone ever to write Bourne fic, so.

Date: 2007-12-23 07:20 am (UTC)And also, as to the second paragraph, first of all, I am all blushy about the first sentence (and I would say the same thing to you, in complete sincerity). And, also, YES to the Gus/Shawn/NOLassie fic - I am still befuddled that people don't instantly see the epic and true connection between Gus and Shawn, that they are mfeo, etc.
And that thing you mentioned about wooing into various fandoms - DON'T TEMPT ME! Because there are plenty of fandoms where I would love to have you write a story in them. You're one of those writers I'd like to pack up in a bag and carry with me to whatever fandom I visit.

Date: 2007-12-24 02:09 am (UTC)I don't really get how those people who don't understand Gus/Shawn are watching the same show as I am. Friends since they were kids! Know everything about one another! It's one weekend on a gay cruise line posing as partners away from slash already.
Um, wait. I am going to write that down for later.
Your post today on Astaire and Rogers is the sort of thing I was thinking about, although I am already totally on board with that! I'm with you on the compilation youtube vid you linked - I am normally so dismissive of those, but that was an AMAZING vid. I have to remember to tag that on my del.icio.us, actually.

Holy crap, you made me turn bright red. Also: I think the same of you.

Date: 2007-12-23 07:27 am (UTC)2. GEORGIE. I am so devastated by her death, I can't even tell you. And the fact that you came up with this story idea is so exciting for me, because now I am secretly hoping YOU will write it (because I know the first thing on your list of Fun Things to Do when you wrap up your day job is writing fic :))
3. This is one of my Yuletide requests! I will e-mail you immediately if that's the one that gets filled.
4. If I ever finish this you know it will all be because of YOU.
5. WHY is there not more fic about him already? MYSTERY.
6. But it would never be half as awesome as either of yours! I will close with an icon from the Bourne Identity alternate ending, which I ritualistically watch at least four times when I watch the first movie (after watching the actual, official ending at least five times, as you do). BOURNE!

Date: 2007-12-23 06:45 am (UTC)As for the meme, you know, I think I'd have you revisit Keen Eddie. I really liked your take on it.

Date: 2007-12-23 07:33 am (UTC)And thank you for the nod towards Keen Eddie! I really loved that show and writing in the fandom was fun. It's definitely something that might be enjoyable to revisit. Thanks for the nudge towards it!
Also: I love love LOVE your icon. One of my favorite moments from one of my favorite shows. The hero of Canton! The man they call Jayne.

Date: 2007-12-25 03:47 am (UTC)I hope the Keen Eddie nudge works!
And hey, I didn't know you liked Firefly! That's shiny.
