There are lots of things I should be doing but I feel the need to procrastinate, which is usually when I end up writing a story, but I'm stuck in the middle of the one I'm working on now and can't figure out where to go next. So I turn to a meme!

Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about them from my own personal canon.

Off to stare at the hateful story.

Okay, I have two, and you can do them as a couple or separately. :)

Matt Saracen and Julie Taylor.

1. Matt almost always does his homework, and when he doesn't, he feels really bad about it.
2. Matt tries not to spend his time wishing for things, because if he did, he'd never get around to anything else: wishing for his grandmother to be okay, his mother to be alive, his father to be happy at home. For the longest time the thing he wished for the most was an older brother: someone to show him how to play football, get around school, handle his grandmother, deal with his father, talk to girls. He still wishes for that, sometimes.
3. Matt knew Julie was the greatest human being ever from the first second he saw her, and every minute he spends with her reinforces that belief.

1. Julie does her homework most of the time, but sometimes she blows it off if something better comes along or if the assignment seems kind of pointless. When that happens, she doesn't give it a second thought. She's smart enough that missing a few homework assignments won't keep her off the high honor roll.
2. She always said she wouldn't be the type of girl to blow off her friends for a boy (she always thought those girls were pathetic), but she hasn't been returning her friends' phone calls as quickly as she should, lately, and she kind of feels bad about that.
3. Julie thought Matt was kind of weird and maybe a little pathetic at first, but always kind of cute, and now she thinks he's incredible, maybe the most awesome person she's ever met, and every day she discovers new things about him that make her feel stupid for ever thinking he was pathetic or weird or anything other than the best person she's ever known.

JC!!!!!

I'm a little rusty, since my popslash prime was a few years ago, now. I will do my best!

1. Of the group, Justin is the one he understands best and Joey is the one he has the most affection for, and his connection with Chris is the strongest but also the most difficult to define.
2. He still thinks Space Cowboy was a really awesome song.
3. When he's performing, he likes to pretend that he's the only one there; no audience, no one standing beside him harmonizing. Just him and the song.

You're not rusty at all! The last one, in particular, is perfect.

Tyra!

1. Tyra used to do pretty well in school until sometime in middle school, which gave people the idea that she doesn't do well in school is because she doesn't try. The reason she kept not-trying for so long is because she thought maybe it would turn out she wasn't smart after all, that even if she tried she would fail, and it would be better to be a lazy failure than a stupid one.
2. She loves being tall.
3. The worst sound of all to Tyra is her mother laughing in the kitchen at something a strange guy's voice is saying, because it means that it's happening again, the same stupid story her mom's been acting out since Tyra was a kid. Every time her mom thinks it will be different, hopes for the kind of happy ending Tyra's become smart enough to give up on.

Thank you, man! I forgot to tell you how much I loved the one you did about Buffy - I particularly loved the one about not being able to discount shop. Buffy! Love her!

Oh my god, I already bookmarked this because you said some great, fic-inspiring things about Matt and Julie. I have so many people I want to ask about, so I will offer you three, and you can pick whichever one(s) you want: Landry Clarke, Clarissa Saunders, Monty Pippin.

Landry Clarke!

1. Landry thinks it's pretty awesome that Matt still hangs out with him, because even though he talked a big game about how Matt's status as a starter would get them both a boost in the high school social hierarchy, part of him was afraid that Matt would leave him behind. He hasn't, and Landry feels kind of guilty for worrying about it.
2. Landry believes in Jesus Christ and his message down to the core of him. In the summers he's a counselor at a Christian Youth Camp and all the kids there think he's incredibly cool because of his band. Those few weeks are some of the happiest in his calendar year.
3. Landry had a little crush on Julie at first, but then he realized how serious Matt was about his, and so he squashed it down as best he could. The first few solo car rides between him and Julie were tough, but now he's used to it and it doesn't really bother him. He still thinks Julie's really pretty.

Clarissa Saunders!

1. Clarissa thought Jefferson Smith was attractive from the moment she first saw him, but clearly off limits. At first she thought it was because he was too young for her, but then she checked his file and realized he was born a few years before her, not after. Then she though it was because he was her boss, but really, she felt more in charge than he did. It isn't until he's been in office a few weeks, when she's taking down shorthand of one of his letters to be sent to the library society in his hometown, that she realizes that the problem is that he's too good for her. She has a hard time finishing the letter.
2. Clarissa wrote a letter to Warren G. Harding about the corruption of his administration when she was in high school, and was still pretty upset about never getting a response when she first started working in Washington. She always made sure that Sam Foley's and Jefferson Smith's letters get a response.
3. Clarissa almost became a reporter, but decided to work for the government because she thought it would be more meaningful. Until Jefferson Smith showed up, she was wrong.

Monty Pippin

1. He'll try anything, and he'll try most things more than once.
2. He had a hard time keeping partners before Eddie came along; they became irritated with him or thought he was strange. Even though Eddie is tense and kind of uptight and has an unfortunate wardrobe, Monty is grateful for the fact that he's never once asked for any kind of transfer.
3. When he was a teenager he was kind of awkward and unfortunate-looking, and he spent a long time convinced he'd die alone and untouched. But then he went to university and his skin cleared up and one weekend, on a dare, he asked every woman he met to sleep with him. It worked on a few and he began to live his personal life according to the proverb: nothing ventured, nothing gained.
4. In his professional life, he is cautious to a fault and baffled by Eddie's ability to throw caution to the wind. Almost as baffled as he is by how cautious Eddie is with women, dating, sex.
5. He's a little worried about how much he thinks about Eddie's sex life.

Okay! It's weird - he's one of my favorite TV characters of the past ten years, and for some reason I found his really difficult to do.

1. Eddie is a good tipper. When he was in New York, he always left twenty percent, and the one time he miscalculated and left ten percent (he and his partner had been having lunch, and had just figured out the answer to the key question at the heart of their case after getting the check), he went back the next day and left the waitress the other ten percent, plus a few dollars. He didn't tell his partner about going back because he knew his partner would think it was stupid, and actually Eddie thought it was kind of stupid, but he couldn't help it. He still tips the same in London, even though Fiona and Pippin are always telling him that ten percent is plenty.

2. Eddie has been shot once, in the leg, by a scared kid whose finger slipped on the trigger. The kid threw up at the sight of the blood spreading through the material of Eddie's jeans, and Eddie ended up consoling the kid while waiting for backup to come. He has come up with an elaborate story to use on women relating to the scar, but when it comes time to reveal it, he always tells the truth.

3. Sometimes, Eddie thinks about getting his own place. He worries about the stability of his current situation (what happens if Fiona's parents decide to come back to London?); after all, all he does fight with Fiona all the time, and one of these days Pete is going to eat her cat, Eddie just knows it. But he never gets further than thinking about it, because really, fighting with Fiona is fun (most of the time), and it's nice having someone there to see at breakfast or at the end of the day, even if the best she sometimes offers is a dirty look and a snide remark.
